General Editing Info
The question editing screen of Bible Touchdown enables the user to add new
questions, change existing questions, and delete existing questions. The editor
is very powerful. Making changes to the question database can seriously impact
the validity of the game. If changes are to be made to the question database,
extra attention should be paid to the validity of the data entered.
The editor is fairly intuitive and easy to use. There is a drop-down box of
all of the different types of plays in the game. Once a type is selected, all
of the questions for that type are displayed in the grid below it.
- Changes: Any changes that need to be made can be made right in the grid. *
- Deletions: To delete a question, just place the cursor in one of the cells of the row
that needs to be deleted or click on the row selector (in the left-hand column)
and click on the delete button or select the Delete Question menu item.
- Additions: To add a question, just click on the add button or select the Add Question menu item. This will place the cursor in a new question text box at the
bottom of the grid. Just enter valid info in each of the columns for the new row. *
- Some columns provide drop-down boxes for selecting a correct value. The
reference column will provide a separate window for the entering of valid Biblical
references.
The columns for the questions are defines as follows:
- Question Text: This field is the main text of the question. It can be up to approximately
250 characters. The actual size that will fit into the question box on the
question screen will vary due to the use of proportional fonts.
- Reference: This field provides the Biblical reference for the question. Values in this
field must be either a valid Biblical reference, the word none or the word unknown. To enter values into this field, click on the arrow button on the right
side of the cell. This will display a separate window that will allow for the
entry of a valid Biblical reference.
- Answer: This field specifies which of the multiple choice answer is the correct
answer. The possible valid values for this field are 1, 2, 3, or 4. The value can
be entered directly or selected using the drop-down arrow on the right side of
the cell.
- Multiple Choice Answers (4): The next four (4) columns are for specifying the multiple choice answers for
the question. Each answer must be entered directly into the cell and can be
up to 50 characters. All 4 multiple choice answers must be entered except for
PAT questions that only allow for the entry of True and False for the first 2 multiple choice answers.
- Difficulty: This field specifies the difficulty level for the question. The number of
yards that are gained on a play are directly related to this value. The valid
values for this field are 1, 2, 3, or 4, where 1 is the easiest, and 4 is the
most difficult. The value can be entered directly or selected using the
drop-down arrow on the right side of the cell. This field is not used for PAT
questions.
Note: The display of questions can be refreshed, sorting any changes or
additions that have been made, by clicking on the refresh button or selecting the refresh list menu entry.
Note2: The grid of questions can be sorted into different sequences by
clicking on the heading of the individual columns. That is, clicking on the heading
of a column will sort the grid by that columns values in ascending sequence. Clicking on the heading of a column a second
time will sort the grid by that column in descending sequence.
Note3: Context-sensitive help can always be obtained by pressing F1.
